To relieve poverty by:

Acquiring and holding land and buildings in Niagara for the purpose of providing affordable housing to residents of Niagara and surrounding areas with low or limited means;

Partnering with other agencies and organizations to create affordable housing in Niagara for residents of Niagara and surrounding areas with low or limited means.

Land Recognition statement

St. Catharines and the Niagara Region are situated on treaty land. This land is steeped in the rich history of the First Nations such as the Hatiwendaronk, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. There are many First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples from across Turtle Island that live and work in Niagara today. The Community Land Trust of Niagara stands with all Indigenous peoples, past and present, in promoting the wise stewardship of the lands on which we live. As an organization, CLTN is committed to critically looking at what it means to own and operate housing on this land, and how we can support reconciliation. We seek to create new models and approaches in our services that further economic, social, and environmental justice.
